Complexity, adaptation, digital trasfomation, Agile, Scrum, business Agility are all new terms and all are used in with a specific meaning in this approach. Here I want to explain what I main in order to help yoi to better understand the following part of the project
The aim of this session is to explore the concept of balance in complex company, in an “holistic” view.
There are three milestones in this pathway: in the first we have to consider that companies operate in a complex environment and one of the skill to “survive” is the adaptability.
In the second step we can see that adaptability is one of the key element of living things so we can make some comparisons between companies and living things. For example we can look at Alphabet (Google) growth and how it’s growing not only with new products but more creating spin off, like a tree or how other companies expand their market and influence like a forest… and analyze some common paths. As there are a lot of different species so there’re a lot of different companies with different level of evolution. How we can classify them and their evolution grade? A couple of element can help: the information flow and the material flow like flow of lifeblood and nervous stimuli.
The third part, the conclusion, is the concept of balance and how import it is. In living things few grades of fever can harm a body or few grades of earth acidity can kill a tree…
In the same way, if complex companies can be see as a living things (I call them “Breathing Companies”), we need to search the right balance because this tiny and sensitive aspect can help grow and expansion.
How to find the balance? I propose an holistic approach that looks at the different area of a company like and at the relations between each of them and how the right integration can create a spiral of growth.
